I’m visiting and spent the day in total relaxation. Anything can happen on a Thursday including my not working. I’ve inserted a Blackberry Playbook image of an orchid. I believe this image basically sums up this day and the serenity I felt and continue to feel.

It’s not enough that I already have a bjillion things I download on a weekly basis but I thought this was a must for those that travel frequently. near2there is a tool that will allow you to find things “near by” and if you aren’t familiar with a city? Great tool to have because I suffer from FOMO too.

I don’t remember when I started smoking but I was ridiculously young. Much younger than I am now. [READS LIKE A MOVIE LINE].
I know I smoked in Grade 4, and would barter with other children on the school ground, and sell cigarettes. A pack was about $1.10 which I thought was very expensive especially for a young entrepreneur. [YES I'M OLDER BUT NOT BY MUCH].
$1.10 back in the day was like a million dollars especially at residential school. It was like Barter Town in “Mad Max beyond the Thunderdome” and I bartered stolen items, and cigarettes. [MEL GIBSON IS A DOUCHE BAG].
Cigarettes made me feel important. I felt wonderful. I felt in control. I felt good. Why else would I smoke them? [I SMOKED OTHER THINGS BUT IT'S NOT FOR THIS POST].
Eventually smoking became a chore. My whole life centred around smoking and like any other addiction, I was annoyed with other people who commented on my smoking.
Smoking controlled my life. HOTELS – what floor and closest to the exit. WHERE I PARKED – close enough to a building due to the weather. RESTAURANTS – where was the nearest exit? VEHICLE – non smoker’s should take the bus but not cruise in my wheels. LIBRARY – nearest exit again. VISITING OTHER PEOPLE – do they smoke? Are they going to annoy me or I by them? SHOPPING – do I really need to go in when I could be just sitting, waiting and smoking? Sound familiar?
The list goes on and on.
HERE ARE MY TOP 10 REASONS FOR SMOBRIETY.
1. I don’t want to be crippled when older. What does this have to do with NOT smoking? I don’t know but I have a good idea that if you’re lazy, over-weight, don’t exercise, use 50lbs of salt and sugar whenever you eat plus smoke? YOU’RE IN FOR IT AND SO IS YOUR FAMILY.
2. I have a history of heart disease in my family. Why push the limit? I need to exercise. 2012 is all about pushing the limit of change. I can change. I have changed. I don’t need to smoke in order to feel some sense of control or de-stress. All I have to do is BREATHE.
3. I have children. My dream is to RUN with them in a marathon. I have a grand-daughter. I want to run with Eden in a marathon. I just want to RUN just for the sake of running.
4. I don’t like yellow teeth. Is this vanity or good dental hygiene? YELLOW TEETH. If you smoke, say goodbye to your beautiful smile and to your beautiful teeth.
5. SMELL.
6. I’m a role model, or at least I try to be. For my children, and to whomever else is watching and paying attention. EVERYBODY KNOWS THE ROAD BUT ONLY A FEW WALK IT.
7. Not smoking is a precursor for bigger and better things. I can do anything or at least that’s my mindset of late. Physical well being is tied into mental health. They walk hand in hand with the other two as well; PHYSICAL, MENTAL, SPIRITUAL AND EMOTIONAL ARE ALL TIED TOGETHER.
8. I’m saving $$. I bought a pack every 2 days or so. $40.00/week x month x year.
9. Smoking causes erectile dysfunction. NEED I SAY MORE ABOUT THIS? This entry is for my future husband whomever that might be. Best be reading this…
10. 4000 CHEMICALS. PETROL ADDITIVE, EMBALMING FLUID, TOILET CLEANER, NAIL POLISH REMOVER, TAR, CARBON MONOXIDE, ETC., just to name a few.
